Visit the Parkland Institute to see their views and the latest information on Health Care in Alberta. Look for "Crisis? What Crisis? and the accompanying fact sheets. |
Be sure to read the Open Letter to MLA"s by President Paul Boisvert, and the Impact Analysis by Executive Secretary Don Mock. Cease and Desist Order This petition calls on Hon. Ron Liepert to cease and desist from further dismantling of our public health care structure. The major and rapid changes Mr. Liepert has announced in the short period since the last provincial election are causing instability while drastically reducing the management capacity in our health system. Mr. Liepert must disclose full details of any Health and Wellness plan for the health system. To date Mr. Liepert has announced significant changes without making public any overall plan or blueprint for the changes. Mr. Liepert must not undertake any new expansion of for-profit business delivery of health care services. Mr. Liepert must not close or diminish any public health care services. Major changes to health care were never raised by the Progressive Conservatives during the recent provincial election campaign. The Conservatives did not reveal any plan for major structural changes in our health care delivery system during the election. The Stelmach government has NO public mandate to undertake drastic changes to our health system. Before making any further changes to our health system, Mr. Liepert must undertake a full and open public discussion of health care policy and plans. Please download, sign, and circulate this petition and return it to the Friends of Medicare.
